The Hartford Area Child Care Collaborative, a project of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and a United Way of the Capital Area partner agency, is committed to promoting and sustaining high quality child care.
Through our network of more than 400 organizations and individuals, the Collaborative mobilizes expertise and support for programs that assist the region’s children and families. The Collaborative influences overall community understanding and support of quality child care through:
- focused and timely information;
- technical assistance for program enhancement;
- providing forums for enhancing leaders and leadership in child care;
- training and skills development for early childhood personnel;
- cooperative planning;
- advocacy for quality child care on regional, state, and national levels; and
- an up-to-date early childhood resource library.
Our members include caregivers, parents, employers, community-based organizations, policy makers, advocates, researchers, academics, and funders.
