The Hartford Area Child Care Collaborative, a project of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and a United Way of Central and Northeast Connecticut partner agency, is committed to promoting and sustaining high quality child care.

Through our network of more than 400 organizations and individuals, the Collaborative mobilizes expertise and support for programs that assist the region’s children and families. The Collaborative influences overall community understanding and support of quality child care through:

  1.  focused and timely dissemination of information;
  2. technical assistance and consultation for program enhancement and quality improvement;
  3. training and skills development for early childhood personnel;
  4. forums for building leaders and leadership in child care;
  5. cooperative planning with community-based organizations, state and municipal government agencies, colleges and universities, funders, families, and others;
  6. advocacy on behalf of quality child care issues on the local, regional, state, and national levels; and
  7. an up-to-date early childhood resource library.

Our members include caregivers, parents, employers, community-based organizations, policy makers, advocates, researchers, academics, and funders.
